by the way wednesday: really tough questions for all of you.

Hello precious friends! I wanted to take this opportunity to ask you a few questions about life and since I am the one who writes this thing, it's happening :)

#1.) What kind of can opener do you use? WHY do mine only work for about 2 weeks and then only open half the dang can?

#2.) Have you ever had the custodian at the gym mop the floor around the machine you were using MID-workout? I was not even sweating that much, so that can't be why he was mopping around the swinging parts of an exercise machine. On a related note, does the elliptical kill your calves??

#3.) What is your favorite kind of yogurt? My sister and I text each other pictures of the same exact things for fun sometimes. Except she has pretty nails and a pretty house:

...And I have a dog, a foam roller, and the trusty old heater. But we both love YOPLAIT Greek yogurt! We grew up in a town where Yoplait employs most of the population, and they are great supporters of the community. Also, their Greek (and regular) yogurt is delicious :)

#4.) Do you prefer to buy or make your own trail mix? I made this because as I was browsing through the trail mix at the store, I saw SUGAR was one of the ingredients in the pre-packaged stuff. I don't know why I was surprised, but really, don't you think dried fruit (and possibly chocolate chips) is sweet enough by itself? I put together almonds, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and dried apples (although they look more like mushrooms, huh?):

#5.) Did you do any sports in high school? If so, what did you do? I ran cross country and track! This picture is from xc state finals with some of my old running besties and one of the best running coaches ever. She used to drop us off in the middle of nowhere and make us run back to the school so we didn't cut our mileage short. She always gave us hot chocolate and cookies at the end to make us forget about leaving us stranded in the boonies. It totally worked.

Have a very happy Wednesday everyone!! Answer the questions or you will have bad luck for 7 years. Haha, JK! But does anyone else remember getting chain letters like that in middle school?

  1. Oh! I just tried the Yoplait Greek Yogurt this week. It was a smidge on the sweet side for my taste, but still really good. I'd definitely get it again, especially if it was on sale. How's the lime flavor??

    1. I liked the lime, it's light and refreshing :) I do like the fruit flavors and the honey vanilla better.

  2. LOL I just love your posts.
I definitely had number 2 happen before. And, the elliptical just hurts me all over. I've never wheezed so much during a workout than when I'm on that thing!!

I buy my trail mixes..I'm gonna pretend I didn't read the sugar stuff now..

that's so cool you did track in school! I literally almost failed gym class - year after year.

    1. Are you kidding? I didn't know it was normal for them to mop under machines in use! Seems dangerous for someone on shaky, tired legs to step down onto a slippery, wet floor!

  3. I don't make trail mix normally, but I definitely make my own granola or muesli for breakfast, and then my own energy bars for snacks. I like having control over the ingredients and being able to make it uber-nutritious. It's also WAY cheaper than buying the prepared stuff in stores (especially if you get your ingredients from the bulk bins!).

I did cross-country and track (shocker to you, I know :-P)...but I also played basketball until my sophomore year of high school! I sucked at it though...and then I realized that the parts I enjoyed the most were the ones that involved running.

    1. Shauna, I had no idea you played basketball! With your height, I am sure you were the star of the team! ;)

  4. Wow, interesting coaching trick. I will have to try that:) I played soccer in high school and I use a regular can opener like the one in the pic, but I have an OXO one and it is awesome. Very sturdy and I have had it for years. We eat yopliat too but I haven't tried the Greek kind. And yes, I have had the cleaning lady at the gym wipe around my machine when I'm on it. Why can't they just wait until we are done?!

  5. 1. Yes my can opener does the same thing. . . it is so annoying!
    2. I have never had someone clean up around me while working out - that would be super annoying too.
    3. Chobani greek yogurt is my fav. I have not tried to yoplait greek yogurt. My sister and I do the same thing too!
    4. My own trail mix - cheaper, healthier and tastier!
    5. I swam and ran track in high school. I have some of the best memories from that time. :)

  6. I loled at this post a lot. My can opener does the same thing. I bought a cheap one at walmart and really only use it for pumpkin. The custodians at my gym do it when I work out between 6-8. I've fallen getting off before...oh and elliptical/arc trainers kill my calves yes. Fage yogurt all the way...except for my wallet...I hoard and freeze it when it's on sale.

    1. I can't believe you actually fell due to over-zelous cleaning! And it is good to know the elliptical kills your calves too, you are the elliptical queen!!

  8. My can opener's a PITA, too, but I refuse to break down and buy a new one. Better to just complain every time I use it...
I "played" basketball in HS. I'll leave it at that. ;)

    1. Yes, I kind of agree it is good to reserve a crappy can opener to have something to complain about :)

  9. Your pup is so cute!!
I can't believe the mopping action going on while you were working-out?! maybe it was a convenient time for her?
I love FAGE yogurt. My Sis and I send each other yummy food picture-texts all the time :)
    I hope you're having a great week!
    xoxo!

  10. Jade, first of all, you rock. Second, I was a weak swimmer in high school. I also played a little tennis, but I was lousy at that to. Oddly, track seemed miserable to me, but swimming had girls in win suits everyday.

    1. Lol @ the girls in swim suits!! I loved that cross country and track had boys, it was kind of the best part :)

  11. My can opener is the Oxo Smooth Edge. It's a little different from other can openers, but it changed my life! Google it!
